  6.  Once upon a time, many years ago, some foolish human tied some
  7. long boards on his feet and discovered that if it had snowed
  8. recently, he could slide down the side of a mountain.  For
  9. unknown reasons, this quaint custom has persisted into the
  10. present day, and is even to be found in Australia.  Yes, *Gentle*
  11. Kate, all of Australia is not deserts or mutton ranches, some of
  12. the land down-under is in fact land that is rather much
  13. overhead, and often covered with snow and ice.  Every winter
  14. (that's June through September for us topsiders) thousands of
  15. otherwise rational Aussies pack up their autos and head for
  16. Koskiusko National Park or perhaps Mount Hotham to spend a few
  17. days sliding down mountains, getting drunk on beer and breaking
  18. their arms and legs.  So far as we know, the Australian Immigration
  19. Authorities do not yet consider people with these fetishes to be
  20. inadmissible as immigrants, so if YOU like to go skiing, you
  21. should quickly file for immigration before the Aussies discover
  22. the truth about this insidious affliction!  Emigrate today, before
  23. it's too late!!!
